Job Description:

As an Administration Officer in the Casual Pool at Penola War Memorial Hospital within the Limestone Coast Local Health Network, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality customer services and providing essential support to the administration team. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Serving as the first point of contact, offering friendly, courteous, and professional assistance to patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Responding to phone calls and in-person inquiries, ensuring that patient concerns are addressed or directed appropriately.
  • Managing and maintaining general and medical records, including patient records, identification labels, and document filing.
  • Assisting clinical staff, visitors, and patients by providing information about hospital services, transportation, and outpatient appointments.

Key Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Previous experience in a clerical/reception role in a hospital setting, including familiarity with hospital computer systems and database applications.

  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with diverse clients, community members, health service staff, and other agencies.
  • Exceptional customer service skills, allowing you to relate to people from various backgrounds and cultures.
