Overview:
An exciting opportunity is available for those looking to gain valuable experience in nursing activities within the professional and dedicated team at Naracoorte Hospital. As an Assistant in Nursing (AIN), you will work alongside Registered Nurses to deliver high-quality care with the goal of improving patient health outcomes. Your responsibilities will include assisting with personal care for patients, supporting nursing procedures, maintaining equipment, and managing local stock levels. In addition, you will ensure the safety and well-being of patients and staff, and report any concerns to Registered Nurses. Your work will be supervised by a Registered Nurse and may also be overseen by an Enrolled Nurse within a care team. Key Requirements:
To be eligible for this role, you should be enrolled as a student in an undergraduate program in nursing or midwifery and have completed any training necessary for safe and competent performance at this level. A motivation to learn, ability to follow instructions, and effective verbal and written communication skills are essential.

- Appointment is subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Check and appropriate immunization requirements.
- Checks required for this position include DHS Working With Children Check (WWCC), DHS National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Worker Check, and a National Police Certificate (NPC) due to unsupervised contact with vulnerable groups.
- The role falls under Immunization Risk Category A, involving direct contact with blood or body substances.
- The Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening, and vaccination policy will be implemented in the workplace.
