Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Duties
As an LPN at Verland, your duties will encompass a range of responsibilities, including but not limited to:
- Medication and Treatment Administration: Administering and documenting prescribed medication and treatments.
- Health Assessment: Assessing the physical status of individuals daily and reporting any unusual behavior or conditions to the Charge Nurse.
- Physician Support: Assisting with Physician visits, developing and implementing health care plans for assigned individuals.
- Other Duties: Fulfilling any additional responsibilities required to ensure the well-being of residents.
To qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- COVID-19 Vaccination: Verland requires all employees to provide documentation of being fully COVID-19 vaccinated or provide an approved religious or medical exemption. CMS now requires a booster vaccine to be fully vaccinated.
- Education: Must be a graduate of a recognized practical nurse program and hold a current PA license.
- Knowledge: Knowledge of current nursing trends is required.
- Valid Driver’s License: A valid driver’s license with reliable transportation is necessary.
- Background Check and Screening: Must pass a complete background check, physical examination, and drug screening.
- Physical Requirements: This position requires various physical activities, including sitting, standing, walking, driving, lifting up to 50 pounds independently, bending, stretching, seeing, hearing, writing, pushing, pulling, climbing, twisting, and reaching.
Training and Support
New hires will receive up to 2 weeks of paid training provided by Verland. This training is designed to educate individuals on daily living skills, social engagement, personal hygiene skills, and each individual’s support plan and personal development goals. Successful completion of training is required at the start of employment.
